Medicare rebates faq’S
How can I get a Medicare rebate for physiotherapy?
Primarily, your presenting condition must have been present for more than 3-6 months.
Secondly, you need to have the appropriate approvals from from your GP, who will provide the paperwork.
How many visits are covered?
The Medicare EPC Program allows for a maximum of 5 episodes with any referred allied health practitioners, per calender year.
So, for instance, your GP might refer you for 3 physiotherapy consults, and 2 podiatry consults.
What do I have to pay?
If you are booking for an online consultation, simply submit your paper work by email and there is no further cost as long as approvals are in place and you haven’t exceeded the maximum 5 sessions per calender year.
The current Medicare rebate (as at March 2020) is $53.80 per physiotherapy consult.
This is currently bulk billed for online consultations, however there is a $10 fee if attending onsite.
We always provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning and treatment at all online and onsite consultations.
