Jenkins Journey - My Pilates story - Annissa
My Pilates Story - by Annissa
Rosie (not her real name), had begun to notice some niggles when doing her daily activities such as hanging out the washing, gardening, and bending over to pick up her young grandson.
Although Rosie knew she didn’t have any serious injuries, she hadn’t given these tasks a second thought before she was in her 60s!
Rosie came to us wanting to ‘get moving again’ with Group Physio (previously known as Clinical Pilates).
During her assessment we identified that Rosie needed help with her balance, as well as help getting her hip and leg muscles stronger.
The assessment allowed Rosie to meet her instructor and ask any questions, as well as telling us about what was most important to her about the class.
Rosie attended her first class on a Monday morning, feeling nervous about using all the different pieces of equipment for the first time.
She survived her first class which included exercises to challenge her balance, strength and flexibility (and boy did she feel those muscles the next day!)
The class was tailored to suit the needs of everyone in the class, as well as account for any injuries.
